The Hotel Meiga do Mar & Spa has inaugurated its 2023/24 Galician Art Exhibition Series with the participation of acclaimed Carnota-born artist Nando Lestón, known for his work as an illustrator and columnist for the publication QPC.
An Artistic Glimpse into Caldebarcos and Carnota
Nearly two years after his first collaboration with the hotel, Lestón returns with a new collection of graphic works that continue to explore the emotional and visual landscapes of Caldebarcos and Carnota, his homeland. While his first exhibition featured photographic postcards, this time the artist opts for illustrated prints, using pen-and-ink as his primary medium.
The “Village World”: Between the Visible and the Lived
The new pieces maintain the same philosophy: depicting a small Atlantic, rural, and emotional universe that invites contemplation. As Lestón himself explains, these images reveal what happens “when you’re not there”—a frozen moment in time where seemingly nothing occurs, yet everything unfolds. Life itself in its quietest, most natural form.
